Women Artistic Cycling World Champion Corinna will turn up in HK

The Hong Kong Cycling Association (HKCA) will host 11th Asian Indoor Cycling Championships cum Hong Kong Open 2012 at the Chai Wan Sports Centre on January 14-15, 2012. All the high-level athletes who come from Japan, Malaysia, Macau, Germany, Thailand and Hong Kong are gathering in Hong Kong in order to struggle for the Asian Championships. The organizer is glad to invite Ms Corinna Hein, Women Artistic Cycling World Champion, to raise the curtain for the Asian Indoor Cycling Championships in Hong Kong. She will give demonstration of aesthetic motion on an artistic bicycle at the Opening Ceremony of the Championships, it is undoubtedly adorning the competition. Our host team will put in full gear to compete in the Championships with an aim to clinch all medals.

Chairman of Organizing Committee Alfred Li said, "The Asian riders are improving significantly in the past few years and now climb up to the top three in the World Championships at Men's Single and Pair events. Hence, the Asian Championships is becoming a major event of the international indoor cycling arena. We are very pleased to invite Corinna, the World Women Champion, to join our event. It will certainly add much color to our ceremony. Our fans will give big hands to her demonstration. This also helps promote the sport of women artistic and encourage the interflow between athletes."

Corinna, aged 28, is a PHD in the University. She started the sport at her early childhood under the training of her father. She held the title of German Championships for four years. She won the first silver medal in 2003 and the gold medal in 2009 in the World Championships respectively. She broke the world record this year and ranked World No. 1 from 2007 to 2011. She just won the world title in the latest World Championships in Japan in November. Hong Kong is not a new place for her as she came here for an exchange training program seven years ago. It is not only an eye-opening change for Hong Kong's spectators, but also a precious learning experience to our Hong Kong team's athletes.

Hong Kong Team Coach Ho Shui Man added, "Our home team will give the visiting teams a hard battle. Ip Hin Bon and Yu Pok Man are coming up with best form after they won the bronze medal of Men's Pair in the recent World Championships. They are perceived our triumph card to lead the HK Team. However, the Macau's Wong Hang Cheong will show how strong he is as he just won the bronze medal of Men's single in World Championships. The Malaysia will send a full team of all experienced riders, Japan's Kazumi is still playing a leading role in Asian's Women riders. Our Womens' team Wong Hiu Shuen and Cheng Yuet Yee are being re-restructured that full of dynamic to capture the medals."

HK seasoned cycle ball player Ho Wing Tai will pair up with Kwan Chun Hin to keep up their upcoming performance in the World Championship. They beat the Canada and Malaysia teams, but lost to Japan. This is the right time for them to give a revenge attack on Japan. They will perform in their best shape at home venue under the full support of the local fans.

The 11th Asian Indoor Cycling Championships cum Hong Kong Open 2012 will be held at the Chai Wan Sports Centre on January 14-15, 2012. The two-day event is open to public with free admission. For more details, please click into the event website aicc2012.hk-icycling.net
